It is a power source that performs well in the Irish climate, and is now accessible to farm owners.
This ease of accessibility is primarily due to increasing demands for clean energy, significant reductions in the costs of Solar PV technology and Ireland’s requirement to meet EU sustainability goals. Once correctly orientated, solar panels will reliably produce clean energy for decades, requiring zero fossil fuels throughout their long operational life. Solar panel installation is relatively simple, even on large scale farm sites, once a site meets with the requisite land criteria for solar farm viability.
